Harvest Workers – Mango Season (NT) (57 views)

Katherine, Northern Territory

Hundreds of workers will be required for the mango harvest in the Northern Territory this year.  Some jobs will commence late August/early September with others commencing mid-September through to early December.  If you are a travelling harvest worker, Australian or Backpacker we need you. If you’re up for an adventure in The Top End, this may be the best opportunity you get! For WHM, your days will count towards a second- or third-year visa.

The season usually starts in the Darwin area and lasts for six weeks, then the Katherine season follows on for another six weeks. This work is all hourly paid $24.80 and includes picking, packing and machinery operation roles.

Accommodation will not be provided. The farms are located 20kms – 50kms from Darwin and Katherine town centres where you can find low cost accommodation in motels and caravan parks. Own transport essential.

The weather during the tropical wet season will be very hot and humid (30’c-40’c) but think of the opportunities to see amazing sights, waterfalls and electric lighting storms that form part of our wet season.

If you are travelling around Australia following the harvest trail, there will be the opportunity to pick up more work in North Queensland following the harvest in the Northern Territory.

NT locals are encouraged to apply. This work will be eligible for visa extension for travellers on a 417 / 462 WHV.
