Fruit Picking Crop Workers Required – QLD (43 views)

We require 50 hardworking, nimble-fingered, physically able & reliable workers to work in the upcoming fruit picking season.

MUST be available to start work early June 2020 through to mid January 2021 and be committed to a minimum of 5 days per week, 8-10 hours per session for duration of the season (approx. 6-9 months). Varying early starts may apply (between 05:00-07:00) depending on crops/products readiness and management requirements. You will need to be available for possible extra hours of work to ensure all crops are harvested/sorted/packed as required by management.

You must be willing to undertake all jobs listed below and able to work in the Atherton, QLD region. Additional work may be offered in Corindi, NSW area from September 2020 to end of season. A move to this area would be required. Manual bending, crouching to pick/pack fruit are required. Manual picking of fruit according to size and ripeness are also required. We are looking for nimble fingers, sharp sighted (no colour-blindness) and physically able applicants who can produce the quality & quantity needed. Potential long hours in all weather conditions. Produce is weighed & paid by the units (e.g. kilos, trays, punnets).

Pickers and Packers must be able to work in a very fast paced environment with speed and accuracy. Modern Horticultural Award 2010 Piece Rate system is on offer (that is, you will be paid for kgs/trays/punnets harvested/packed) with occasional hourly depending on tasks. Amount earned will depend on individual speed /performance. Previous (and current) physical outdoor activities or lifestyle habits will be highly regarded. Outdoor work which can be cold and wet OR very hot and dry. We need reliable, flexible workers. Regular lifting and bending. Gentle but fast hands needed. Ability to follow instructions a must. Work is offered through a labour hire agency on a casual basis.
