40 workers are required for 9 months’ work from June 2021 onwards on various farms for citrus, stone fruit and nut picking, vineyard and pack shed work in Leeton and surrounding areas in New South Wales. Workers must be fit and capable of sustained heavy work. The mainly outdoors work will involve picking, packing, pruning, thinning and general crop maintenance. Hours of work will vary according to harvest requirements. Workers must be available for the whole 9 months. Wages will be paid at standard casual rate (hourly and piece rate) under the Horticulture Award 2020 and work will be over 5-6 days per week, depending on weather conditions with average minimum weekly work hours exceeding 30 hours per week. Successful applicant will need to provide own transport. Due to the high physical demands of these positions and regular periods of hot and sometimes extremely cold weather workers will need to be physically fit and self-motivated.
