We are about to launch into another busy Cherry Season which is expected to commence in early December and run through until the end of January. We are looking for up to 750 energetic workers to assist with the picking harvest across 2 locations in Southern Tasmania, the Derwent Valley & the Huon Valley.
To be considered for this role, you will need to;
Be fit, healthy and agile
Tolerate working in a variety of weather conditions
Be able to climb and manoeuvre a ladder
Carry up to 10kg
Be reliable, motivated and committed to working through to the end of harvest
Have good attention to detail and be quality focused
Be able to take direction and follow instructions
Have energy and drive to persevere with repetitive work tasks for up to 8 hours per day
Have a positive, can do attitude
Available 5 – 6 days per week, including weekends
Varying early starts may apply (between 6.00am to 7.00am) depending on crop readiness and management requirements. Flexibility in your availability is crucial in horticulture, as crops growth/harvest is weather driven and may be intermittent.
Successful candidates will be offered employment on a casual basis under the Horticulture Award 2010. Work will be paid under the contract (piece rate) system, so the more you pick the more you earn.
